One of the biggest trends on the runway this year was the 80s make-up look with interpretations including the pale transparent face with hollow cheeks and dramatic 80s eyes with smudged eyeliner and vibrant eye shadows and long lushes lashes. Purple is big news for lips this year with vibrant reds following shortly after, the nude look is also in for lips contrasting with smoky eyes offering a wider choice to those who don’t want to go for the bold shades
• Foundation: Aim for flawless, natural looking skin with the sheer foundations of the Summer being carried through with some alterations, Use tinted moisturisers with light translucent powders.
• Eye Liner: Black eyeliner is a great tool for creating dramatic 80s eyes, paying homage to the Goth like vamp look beloved of designers this year in the Fashion Capitals. However don’t be afraid to experiment with coloured eyeliners which were just as popular this year in combination with neutral eye toned eyeshadows. Dramatic Kohl rimmed eyes are back this winter to contrast with perfect flawless skin.
• Bold Eyeshadows and vibrant block colours are being used with dark purples and blue hues all the rage. Smokey eyes are popular this year to create the 80s Goth look with blending a key factor in creating this effect.
• Contouring: With the western worlds revived fascination with all thing Vampire, highlighting and contouring are back with a vengeance, with sculptured faces and pale ethereal complexions and contrasts between light and dark.
• Bold Lips: This season’s lips are high impact being all about bold deep reds and purples with the vamp look setting the trend this year. Choose anything from deep blood reds to brownish shades, rich berry shades and deep purples.
